Ive been making money with advertising for about 5 years now, and my income continues to grow. I believe Ive found a strategy that works well, is very doable, and one that will work for you too. All you need to do is follow some very simple steps and you will be on your way to a nice online income. I am not saying it is easy...in fact there is work involved, and as with most things the harder you work the bigger the reward. Building a website can be done quickly, but obtaining a good enough position in the search engine results pages to bring a significant amount of traffic takes time. If youre willing to spend money on PPC ad campaigns or paid links you can get rapid results, but you really need some compelling content to make money from advertising if you are going to pay for advertising to get visitors to your site. If you already have websites and you have visitors, then you should be advertising because you make money when you do. Its a numbers game. The more visitors you get the more money you make. There are a variety of ad programs out thereand I suppose you could include affiliate links as ads too. I joined some affiliate programs, and I made some money, but I prefer advertising revenue. Ive found that by having good content, ultra-simple layouts, basic good SEO practices including link building, and lots of pages of great content, I can get a lot of search engine traffic. Include a strategy to obtain links from other sites. Since the information available on your website that the search engines can use to rank your site is limited, they use other indicators as well. They can use bounce rates, and other indicators to help them determine how to rank your site. One of the more important ways they can determine your sites importance is by counting the number and the quality of the links to your site from other sites. So obtaining links with good link text from other quality sites is important. The three pronged approach I use for my advertising revenue stream consists primarily contextual based ads such as Adsense or others. Search engines can easily determine if your site is cluttered up with ads and links, and they most likely reduce the importance of pages that are teeming with ads and affiliate links. I put my navigation links on the left side of the page, a context based ad across the top of the page, another tall skinny contextual ad on the right hand side. The third prong of my advertising income is in its infancy, and I believe that in time it will prove to be hugely successful and I intend to be there and benefit from it when it happens. What is this baby internet advertising program? Its called NetAudioAds, and they are 5 second audio ads that play when a visitor lands on your site. Like the CPM impression advertising it pays you for each play. Your visitor does not have to click anything. Like with the other programs, you just place a snippet of code on your web page and they do the rest. This program also allows you to sign up other webmasters to play the ads on their sites, and when they do you get a portion of the ad revenues for those ads. If you can sign up lots of new publishers you could make a nice income just from their ads playing on their sites. The ability to sign up new publishers and receive a percentage of their ads is permanent, however once Net Audio Ads has decided it has enough publishers signing up converts, it will stop letting new publishers do that. This 5 second audio ad program, sometimes referred to as 5 second audio ads, and sometimes as GetAudioAds, has lots of interesting things going for it. For one thing, it will only play once every three minutes to any particular web surfer. It does not take up any room on your web page. Its free to join and doesnt cost you a nickel. 2. The TITLE tag. This is the title of your web page, and should contain the primary keyword for the page. Each page should be written round one primary keyword that relates to the subject of your website or niche.

For example, if your niche is costume jewelry, the primary keyword for your home page would be 'costume jewelry'. You could then have a number of 'silos' with a main page title each. The title of one main silo page could be 'simulated diamonds' and the first page title of that silo could be 'garnets'. All of these are the primary keywords for their respective pages. Another silo could be 'colored gem stones', with that as the primary keyword for the main silo page, and that for your first sub-page in that silo could be 'citrine'. And so on.

Each page must have one primary keyword, and it should be included in the Title tag for that page. The Title tag does not appear in the body of the article, but in the HTML between the two HEAD tags in your html.

3. The H tag. These are heading tags, with H1 being the most important. The heading for each main section in your page should be contained within H1 tags, and many pages have only the one set of such tags. Subheadings, containing secondary keywords, should be contained within H2 tags, and so on. Thus, in the example above, the heading or your garnets silo could be could be 'Garnets in Costume Jewelry' in H1 tags.

After an introduction to garnets, you could then have an H2 heading containing 'The Source of Garnets: Where Garnets Come From', then another passage of text headed 'How Garnets are Cut for Costume Jewelry', again held in H2 tags.
4. The ALT attribute. Use 'Alt = ' within the Img tags of your images and graphics. This lets the search engines know what the graphic is about: search engines do not read graphics, and the Alt attribute offers you the chance to use your graphics meaningfully with respect to SEO web design.

TEXT FORMATTING

That's all you have to worry about regarding the HTML tags. You text formatting can be used to emphasize to search engines what the important text on your page is. Thus, if you use bold text, underscoring or italics, they indicate the important words and phrases. Thus, use the and 'U' html tags in your heading.

WRITE NATURALLY

In my writing I ignore the concept of KD altogether. I use my keywords as indicated above, and also in the first and last 100 characters on the page (or at least in the last paragraph somewhere).

Good SEO web design is not keyword fixated, but contains good contextually related vocabulary that the LSI algorithm can use to target the relevance of the page to the search term being used by somebody using the search engine to find information. That's all a keyword is: a term used by somebody looking for information. If you cannot work without a target KD, then I would go for a max of 1 not 3%)

None of these are web design secrets, and I doubt if there are any such secrets left any more. I suppose the only thing even approaching a secret here is that my description meta tag is copied exactly by Google in the listing for my #1 placed website. That allows you to determine how Google users see the description of your site in the listing.
